Mom Had A Meltown Over The Laundry Mess - Just Wait Until You See Dad's Solution
Cailyn Finkel 2/23/2016
Having five kids is messy! That means five times the dishes, spills and piles of laundry. So when mom and wife, Jen Hatmaker, was fed up, her husband Brandon stepped in and solved the laundry puzzle!
He Knew What To Do
Jen walked into the laundry room to find it completely destroyed. This wasn't out of the norm - her family would throw the clean clothes from the dryer on the floor and this would double the number of loads they had to do in the long run. She explained just how bad the laundry system was in their house and how little anyone cared on her Facebook page.
"Someone's clean clothes in the dryer? 'Oh well,' say the people who live here. 'I will just pull them out and dump them on the floor to mix in with the random dirty clothes already there.' Or, 'I'll just leave my clothes in the washing machine for 45 hours so the mildew smell will become permanently embedded in the fibers.'"
Her husband, Brandon, knew that he had to get involved before Jen's anger got even worse. So he gave his wife a kiss goodbye and disappeared in his car. Brandon was on an obvious mission for something!
Now There's A System
Brandon went to the store and bought 12 black and 12 white laundry baskets. There was going to be order in the house now! Brandon explained his idea on Facebook.
"Everyone has a black and white basket in their room. Black is dirty. White is clean. Why not just fold the clean and put it away? YOU TELL ME! But they don't, so let's keep them separate and off the floor!"
When the black basket is full, they bring it downstairs and pick up an empty basket. When the washer and dryer is open, they can do a load of laundry worry-free. If someone finds a clean load in the dryer, now they don't have to drop it on the floor. They can put it in one of the empty white baskets, instead!
One Organized, Happy Family
Jen was overjoyed by her husband's brilliant idea and vowed to make sure everyone is following along with the program! No more dirty clothes mess on the floor and around the house.
Brandon jokes that now all of the laundry on the floor "will be burned!"
Lucky To Have Him
Jen's frustration inspired her husband to think of a lasting solution, and now their family is going to be more organized because of it!
